Aerial Lift of CT closing soon!

I received this letter today from Aerial Lift. Apparently, they're closing up shop over the next 3 months. Wonder what we will do for parts and service?

I purchased brand new bucket trucks from them in 1999 and 2000, and they've always done the yearly inspections and all maintenance. Many of the parts are unique to their lifts, so they may be hard to find pretty soon.

Wow that is sudden. Aerial Lift Of CT is a manufacture of Arborist purpose built bucket trucks. They are quality machines with flaws in design like the rest of the manufactures.

i dont know, i like aloc's
i used to run the old asplundh lr 45's
and they seemed similar,
i liked that they cover the country doing the services and inspections

they'll be like getting parts for a skyworker

i was looking at a used one online, now i'll stay with altec's i guess

I just heard that the owner pased a while back and one of the children has been running the company (poorly).

I wouldn't be suprised if someone bought them out and continued running the biz......

Wow that SUCKS. I have a rear mount ALC and it is a sweet machine. They shafted Rich Mitchell who was running things beautifully there so he left and went to Altec. Cheryl apparently ran it into the ground in about a years time. She sent me a letter about 2-3 months ago saying there was a false rumor going around that ALC was going out of biz and that it wasn't true and they were doin fine...... SURRRRRE....

They were a company of craftsmen that built and maintained an excellent product, and she ran them outta business

Pretty sure, the first aerial lift that was made was for bartlett tree.

It sits on top of the hill of the track I ride at.

Well then I suspect Bartlett may end up buying most of the spare parts inventory. Might be worth investigating to see if you can find the right person to try to secure a lifeline for future use.

Shit, if you ask me Bartlett should buy out ALC, They certainly have the money.

They're good lifts Dave. Second only to MAT3 IMO. But yes someone should buy MAT3. Tell Tony to bust open the mattress!

Why would a tree co want it, even a big one like Bartlett- they do tree care not manufacture bucket trucks. They have no expertise. Maybe another manufacturer will scoop them up

Why wouldn't a tree company want it. Asplund used to make there own chippers.
Expertise? You dont think theyd have their phc crews assembling the lifts do you?

They can buy the business and keep it running as is, if they choose. Same people or not. It aint rocket science.

Alot of their best people jumped ship as she ran it down. It is truly sad such a company could be blown up so quickly.

Whenever a company goes through strife or changes hands people jump ship. Its human nature. There are always other equally (or better) qualified people who are waiting on the sidelines for their chance to shine. A tree company buying them could be the best thing for them. Ever.
