    346xp vs 357xp

Personally, I get a nostalgic feeling when turning the old style chain adjuster, and I bought a slim handled screwdriver especially for it. I can't understand why Stihl doesn't cop one from Husky's book and put a hole in the crank shaft for greasing the clutch bearing? People that don't think...

    346xp vs 357xp

I seem to remember that putting on the side cover was a pita with the tensioner in the bar. Didn't the bar kind of flop around and be hard to position?

    346xp vs 357xp

Sorry to be repetitive, but the 242xp is my all time favorite saw in that cc range. People will see it being used and later ask if I can find one for them too. Very good balance and easy to work on as well. Clips would be nice instead of screws to remove the top cover for access to the air...

    346xp vs 357xp

I read where they say the 262xp should be run on higher octane gas, might even be a recommendation form the manufacturer. If so, that would be pretty unusual, I believe.

    346xp vs 357xp

Yes, Dennis, I dropped the first bid, but it just started. I don't buy much at auctions, but sometimes you have to respect the first person that spots something and puts in a reasonable bid, at least I like to think that way, and probably about the only person in the world to have such a view...

    346xp vs 357xp

A little off the subject, but I spied this 262xp being offered at the Jap auction. I have been wanting one since Willard told me that it is one of his favorites, and had been keeping my eyes open for one. Especially with the handle heater it will probably bring a feeding frenzy, but I like to...

    346xp vs 357xp

People sure do seem to like the 346xp, therefore, I wonder when they will stop producing it?

    346xp vs 357xp

The few mentions of the 444 that I have found on the internet, are much in keeping with what Steve says about his.

    346xp vs 357xp

Sorry about the derail, and i always seem to throw in these older saws into the newer one's discussion....anyone with experience running a Husky 444? i see one up for auction here, and it's the first time I have seen mention of the model. it looks interesting. Thanks.

    346xp vs 357xp

The 357 seems like a real purposeful saw if felling in the 20" plus minus range. With the displacement you should be getting more power compared to the 346.
