There's a special offer at the local local Husqvarna dealer on 346, 357 and 372.It will last till january.
They're pushing a lot the new 562xp and 560xp, so they give a good price on the others.
I was thinking to get a 357xp, even if i consider the 346 a good saw.
Any suggestion about it?
Thanx.

All three are excellent saws but they are in different categories. Buy the size you need, they are excellent choices. Buy a 372 also if you can afford it.

357 is what I need more at the moment.
372 is my favourite saw ever, but MS 440 is still running so... next time.

Don't know the prices there , 372 is 930 euro(200 less than before), more or less 1240 US dollars.

The 365xp x-torq 70.7cc strato is a 372xp x-torq 70.7cc strato. Only difference the 365xp has a restricter plate that is easily removed. Difference in prices $6something to $8something. I was quoted $550 for the 365xp the other day, not bad for a 71cc saw. Just so you know.

Are you sure about that? It seems the 372 x-torq is a North America pet. I looked around for the X-torq versions here and they are not available, only the normal engine in 372.
I think chances are these saws in Italy is same.
Making shelf space and ending a era in selling last old out.
357, 372 is available here for order this year, and beginning of next...

The 357 seems like a real purposeful saw if felling in the 20" plus minus range. With the displacement you should be getting more power compared to the 346.

Im nuts over the 346 myself. I live for the 372 but if you need a small saw, the 346 will make you smile.

I was more referring to X-Torq. As we don't have them here, I thought you could be interested in knowing this.
365 we have not had in product list for quite some time...

Sorry about the derail, and i always seem to throw in these older saws into the newer one's discussion....anyone with experience running a Husky 444? i see one up for auction here, and it's the first time I have seen mention of the model. it looks interesting.

Thanks.

I ran 44 and 444 a lot.
Not bad saws with exception of the crappy ignition system.

In Japan you find them labled as other things to. I have 644, 445SE for example...

The few mentions of the 444 that I have found on the internet, are much in keeping with what Steve says about his.

I have all three and they are all excellent saws. My 346 is set up with a 20" bar for reach and is used for limbin and climbing/bucket work. 357 with an 18" bar for firewood and general ground work. 372 with 28" full skip for the bigger wood.

Thanks guys.
I'm thinking about the 357 with a 18"or 20" bar.

Is it just a matter of weight your choice of using the 346 in the tree instead of the 357?
The 346 is not losing in power a little bit with a 20" bar?

357 run great with 16" .325 and 18" if it is 3/8.
More than that they tend to get hot as it is more of limbing saw than felling saw.

If I were you I would try to get a non x-torq 372. Not much different in prices compared to difference in saw.

Good point. Difference in price is only 80-90 €.

I'm just looking for a good saw to bring up in the tree , something in the middle between a 200T and a MS 440.
My back keeps gettin less and less happy with heavy saws.

Yes Magnus the 365xp and 372xp are both x-torq like I mentioned in 1st post. I thought it was odd they called the new 365XP. Which to me the closed port 365 special was in my mind anyways back then too. I would have only considered the open port 365 a non xp.
I have yet to come across a 365 that wasnt closed port even though I know the are out there.

Something else I noticed was the factory specs on the x-torq saws 365 372 jonsered sister saws 2166 2171 show a weight gain in PHO. 14.1lb to the old 13.6lb

Thanks guys.

For me it is the weight and that's way I prefer the 346 and she seems to do just fine with a 20" bar and is better on fuel than a 357. If you don't mind the weight a 357 with a 20 or 22" bar would be a great choice. I have a 24" for it but the balance is really funky and nose heavy. The 357 is my favorite saw all around for a smallish saw but not for climbing IMO.

The 444 was a great saw for limbing. I ran a couple of them in my pulp cutting days.
I remember nothing bad about them.
