    Usually kerosene, Rajan. I like to keep the oil and gas caps off for a spell to dry out the tanks before putting into storage. it probably doesn't accomplish much.

    On a couple large saws that don't see much use, I follow the recommendations for storing a saw, you know, running it until it is dry, a teaspoon of two cycle oil in the cylinder and a few pulls to distribute it, drain the oil tank. It works great.

    I can honestly say that I have never run a 440. I do have a 460 Magnum, entrusted to me by an older guy who said that he could barely lift it with his bad knees, and knew I would be giving it a good home. It is a fine saw, and I get the impression a real good one to mod, but I haven't touched...
