I say climb it too, but only in your dreams when you are in your pjs and safely tucked away under the covers. Nice job, Willie!

The only thing worse than a whiner is one who does so over something that is none of his business.

It's interesting to think of the adjectives that might be used to describe the weed experience. 'Intensified' is one that comes to mind.

Very true point, I've had relatively light crane picks get hung up when the only way to pull the tree was sideways to the boom orientation. When the saw is bound in there with that deal it can get frustrating.

Flowery words, but if that forum discussion is your "source", it would seem that the cause of the accident and whether Peters death can be blamed on attempting to work above his level of experize, is unclear. Beyond a mistake being made, there are different interpretations of the incident...

Really hate to interject negativity into the daringness, but wasn't there some discussion awhile back about a well known tree guy, he might even have been an instructor, who was taking out the top of a rotten tree and the shock of it going over broke the tree below his tie in and that was all...

Yes, Burnham, those pruner machines are still made in Japan. To what extent they are used is unclear to me. There is a long history for growing straight clear conifers, Cypress in particular...Japanese Hinoki, a beautiful and sweet smelling wood for interior construction and baths, somewhat...

Thanks for elaborating on the possible crane use as you see it Willie. As you say, crane laying down a tree through other trees, if that is your only option, can really mess the tree about with a lot of force on it. Healthy trees can take the beating no problem, but rotten ones are very...

Just wondering what would be the result of chokering off at the highest point that the crane can reach and then cutting at the base? Still top heavy?

It's a shame that a crane that can carry all the weight with a clean one time pick cutting at the base, can't make the height. With a jib no way? How close can the crane get?
