Squisher's right...you are PRIME for hot/cold soaks. I did it twice a day for several weeks. I used two five gallon buckets, filled up high enough with water to submerge my foot. It was a hassle but I just figured it was the price I paid for it doing its job.

Being on a prescribed physical therapy program could be a good idea...I broke an ankle (not tree related) about 10 years ago...when I got the cast off the orthopod said no PT was necessary, just walk it out.

I divined the same thought. An extra month or so invested in proper healing now can make a huge difference later. Don't get impatient...well, you will get impatient, just don't give in.
I agree with Nick...we're all human. Times I have gotten hurt I was usually distracted or rushing. Your lesson may help somebody else make good decisions.
