No....from drying out. I do use a belt sander to take down the ridges at the joints, but that one started out green, too.

That is bamboo...in the early days of my bando training, we always used wooden staffs. Once I realized I could find bamboo locally I started using it...in 1998 I planted my own bamboo (4 varieties) and I use my homegrown boo now.

Yep....the weight hitting the block was flexing that spar...made me uneasy just watching. I wondered if the far trees could have been used as two gin poles....a long swing for the piece but it wouldn't have stressed the damaged tree he was in. Put a block in each tree...make a helluva a video...

Scary tree for sure. Not one I would have tackled...other guys can have it. Would have a strap or two at the breakout site have helped splint it all together?

Tell them you worked with an alpama once before...that ought to be good for another hour. Be sure you are getting paid by the hour. (A huarizo is a cross between a male llama and a female alpaca. The most common hybrid between South American camelids, huarizo tend to be much smaller than...

I wondered it the pull line could have been higher up the tree...would it have given better leverage to rotate the lower spar around that pivot point against the right side tree? Cool job.

That was just smooth and fun to watch! "move the house"..."just go away" I caught 11 flying squirrels in my attic over the course of a winter in the 90's. Took them to the nearby State park and released them at a big oak with a good hollow. It was always fun to watch them skedaddle up...

That is one of your best videos. The explanations about how you set up props was good to hear...then to see how you lifted pieces off the building using those props was nice. Really nice, smooth lifts and movements. And that proprietary "Morbark" grapple was neat...some smart doin's there.
