    Good point.. gotta hope he has some sense.. One precaution would be to hang some weight on the rope/ chain, like a wet towel or another hank of rope on the rope/chain

    Looks like you can get that down without leaving the ground which is almost always a better option than cutting aloft, especially for a newbie... Clean it up and get it down to two pressure points on the ground, then keep undercutting carefully, one side to the next until it starts to get...
