    anyone using spliced hitch cord?

If you're putting real pull on something, it would be better to use pulleys, or at least some biners. That's especially true for working gear where you might be doing it numerous times over the year. Rope-rope contact is hard on them.

For human powered pull, you aren't gonna significantly damage any decent rope. Add machines, and you might cause some damage.

    anyone using spliced hitch cord?

Ok, I think I might have it. I'm playing with some paracord, and it looks like the loop size is adjustable when tied correctly? IOW, before everything is tensioned, the loop can be easily made larger/smaller by adjusting the running end.

    anyone using spliced hitch cord?

    anyone using spliced hitch cord?

I mostly use a loop, and that stays tied. The knots aren't really in play as far as load goes. I haven't really settled into a double ended hitch yet, so they're usually tied as needed. Can inspect on retie. I guess they could be tied wrong, but you'd almost have to try.

    anyone using spliced hitch cord?

Welcome! I'm just a hobbyist, but I like knots. Allows you to make small adjustments in length. I also can't splice, so there's that. Good splices are lovely to look at, and make a nice trim setup though.
