    I've never done the wrap thing, but it'd guess the back of the strap doesn't move. What I was pondering was if the front strap pushes the ankle/leg into the back strap, getting it tight all around.

    Buckingham says only the inside/curved face. It's plausible that other designs are sharpened differently.

    Fake for sure. I felt up the steel ones and just had to take them home with me.

    They don't have anything that holds the "strap" perpendicular to the calf/shank. They are a really wide T pad with a built in strap. Just my take on them, I've never climbed with them, only felt them up at a show.

    Ah, yes indeed. They aren't much different than regular T loops, but they allow you to get tighter without cutting into the calf as bad.

    My velcro's with steel don't have to be uncomfortably tight.
