The smell of the bay laurel is actually fresh and pleasant but never in abundance. The essence, like many trees, sticks with you beyond the work day. I've been complimented on the smell of Bay, grand fir, and especially eucalyptus. Wherever you go people perk their noses up and ask out...

I chipped a lot of Bay. It's similar to tear gas. and clears the sinus too. Brutal for hours on end.

I agree Butch. On the technical side the climber / faller has the call. But on mundane work sometimes you have to do it the way they tell you. Two sides to that one. probably more.
