There are two filters. One "easy" filter that is out in the open and a "hard" filter behind the engine that is a royal pain in the ass to get to a filter wrench is a must.- flushcut

Yep, drain or replace the "easy" filter first then the "hard" filter if need be. I have a 03' bc1400 and PCTREE (Paul) got rid of his a year or two ago.- flushcut
