    Rigging your truck unstuck

Downside of midline log and a bunch of tension is barberchair potential. I don’t know that I like the idea of plunge and trigger either, gonna be jerky…

Dangit. I knew it was gonna be obvious and I was gonna feel dumb when the reverse ratio was explained. 😆

How do you do the reverse?

Wakeboard winches seem like they are too fast and not enough umph. How about chainsaw winches?

    Rigging your truck unstuck

It was a friend. I told him at the beginning it might hit the shed, he said it was time for it to go anyway. If more importance were the shop, pump house, his trucks, powerline, my truck. (Not room to drive, which would have produced the speed @gf beranek said is important) I went up in the...

    Rigging your truck unstuck

Skip ahead to about 9:00 for the midline log part. Trees were hanging over the fence/neighbors yard. I used an electric winch. I need to get around to building a faster PTO or hydraulically powered “speed winch”

    Rigging your truck unstuck

For fun…that’s why we went to the dez in the first place. I rarely take the easy route. That’s how I got good at this. If I had aired down first, or if it wasn’t blow sand, or if I had gone faster, it wouldn’t have been a problem. I think I was distracted telling my son something.

People will say you can’t take a heavy diesel in the sand…stock small tires yeah. A little bigger tires aired down, disconnect antisway bars, some skill and experience…I go all over.

    Rigging your truck unstuck

Normally, yes. Usually before I get stuck, sometimes after 😆 The desert is bumpy or sandy, both require airing down. How much depends on vehicle weight and tire size. My 1995 2500 Cummins on heavy duty military surplus 39” tires, 10psi. My 2011 on 35”ish tires, maybe 15 in the rear and 25 in...

    Rigging your truck unstuck

The way I originally heard the story, was a jeep trying to pull out a motor home. Guy came along and had the jeep get to the end of the strap tight and bury the jeep a little…then he hooked on sideways in the middle and pulled the Moho out…with a GTO. I came across some guys in a muddy lakebed...

    Rigging your truck unstuck

I just get the first one as tight as I can, then the side pull, then drive. The straps combined with some Digging, airing the tires down, maybe junk under the tires, is enough to get un hung up. A heavy rig with small tires in a big field of sand or mud, it won’t do much good unless you can keep...

    Rigging your truck unstuck

This is the third time I’ve saved my bacon with this trick. One tight, another sideways to double the pull. Even better is the straps with the spring loaded reel for the dead end of the strap. The handle is longer for more leverage.
