I've been running that system for a while now. Haven't had any problems. I was tired of the clanging of 2 biners on the single tie in area, sometimes one biner would turn sideways and load on the gate. Not good. I had a spliced end on my old climbing line. It got stuck in a crotch once...

Looks good to me. I run 4wraps 3 braids. Looks can be deceiving, try it out.

It does look a little loose/meaning it might slip. You really have to experiement with the wraps/braids to find your sweet spot.
