Nice I missed that one. Perfect example of using a speedline. I use my figure 8 differently. Do you just configure it like that so you dont have to remove it from the sling. In rock climbing we would just stick the bight through and then flip it into the gate of the biner. it doesnt need to go...

Jack, how are the Maxim 5mm loop runners holding up? Like most cordage things I make, mine have all been cannibalized for this or that. I had a carabiner break (open gate) when a one of the slings got stuck under the tractor tire with biner on the bucket! Amazing that the biner broke before...

I have always found sterling products to be of the highest quality... I imagine that is similar to if not the same as the accessory cord in their rock climbing line off products, all of which are kernmantle and very soft and supple.. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

Jack? We know it is stiff, how did it work for you today? Get a chance to try it out? Did you configure any with the fixed biner and the loop? I really like the ability to basket choke or have a longer single line choker.

Stephen those look pretty small eh? I have been looking for a really small locker... TopNotch, Maxim = way better than webbing.

Jack, one thing to note with the Maxim cord is that it is extremely stiff, more so than most other textiles I am familiar with. IMO this a benefit, it makes it stow really neat and gives it a predictable flip, the caveat is that you need to make sure your knots are tied, dressed, and set with a...

Buy a bunch of it :) ! It is such handy stuff that you will immediately want more once you have utilized all of it... Did you see the Remote rigging thing we were talking about? I started another thread about it..

Did you see the hazard associated with loop runners and the Petzl String, something similar to the blue bandit? I posted it a while back, it may not apply since the biner is knotted to the sling in your case... however I am not familiar with the bull hitch. http://vimeo.com/4138205...

So Scott, Treesmith, and I have talked quite a bit about loop runners and they have popped up in different threads. I personally use them all the time for a myriad of tasks. I made some up a couple of months back and they have been working marvelously. I used Maxim 5mm tech cord, with one end...
