Kinda figured as much. I was boring for a block face and the rakers were a bit low. Grabby to start, so I used a different saw to bore as deep as I could, then switched. Much more effective.
If you can wedge the one side, there doesn't seem to be anything to hit, a handful of wedges goes a long way, especially if it doesn't need much.
I wonder about tying leads together as far as over-straining your equipment, especially on a relatively cheap job. If the leads get forced apart...
Seems faster to bore and backstrap release, one saw and... well nothing else for the felling. Not a lot to worry about in the back of your head about that fatality. No extra gear to deal with. No ropes to set. No worry about felling whole with a separation issue. --
