I was checking CNN for a while they had some folk in lafayette in some parking lot getting blown around in the driving rain, looked kinda mild compared to the stuff I remember from Katrina coverage. That and EVERYONE was talking about New Orleans for hours before and after the storm was in town.

lotsa wind I believe, I was watching CNN here and there and they were in a town (Alexandria ) not far from his, floodwise I dont think they have any probs, just wind. likely cable, phone and power out for a few days at the least. I just saw a small article, apparently water is in short supply...

I am thinking if he isnt online he has more serious problems to deal with at this point. Heck I hope he is fine, hanging out with his cats, reading a book and waiting patiently for the interweb to re-energize in his town.
