    How's the splice today?

Thanks. I have a slightly used Drenaline that is the perfect candidate.

    How's the splice today?

@Tommy_B Do you use a wire/long steel rod fid for the drenaline? I have been watching the splicing vids and all it seems to need is patience and a 50cm or longer wire fid

    How's the splice today?

Latest one. The main struggle is getting the core out of the cover without too much distorsion.

    How's the splice today?

It is cold and windy so I ordered a fid and practiced while the wind was howling. I am following the Samsin guide for double braid class 1 splice.

    How's the splice today?

thanks for the advice. Browsing multiple threads about splicing and rope whipping sparked some interest. Whipping the end looks like a good way to ensure the core and cover do not move again.

    How's the splice today?

Yes. Rigging rope. Samson stable braid is the commercial name. Always used a block and I do a bowline as a termination knot.

    How's the splice today?

@friedrich I have milked it back and the two parts get very close to each other and are "equalised". Once I milk both ends again, I will cut a few inches on both ends and look into stitching them. Thanks to all who chimed in.

    How's the splice today?

This thread sees a lot of traffic so I am hijacking it. I would like to fix this situation on my rigging rope and maybe it will happen on my climbing rope too. Is there a name for this "condition". If there is a thread that already has info, feel free to point me to it. Thanks.
