I tried out HRC because Nick likes it so much and found that with 6 or 7 coils it does work well.

Adam not sure if it was you or somebody else who weighs 220ish but I'm wondering if its the weight thing. I tested them with 200 extra weight ie 380 and they worked fine but I have never climbed on them for extensive periods of time so am wondering if it as causing the wear surface to peen over...

Leon yes you found the problem SAP. Sap will really turn the HH into a binary device for sure. Not sure there's any cure for it to be honest

Leon check the surface that the biner slides on the side plate and check it for an indentation that may be keeping it from moving a k up and releasing. Can you try it with another rope and which biner do you have

Brendon, if you are worried about waste of motion when taking in slack remember when using it in SRT which I do on all my wrecks there is half the slack to take up and also when you get it dialed in it will come up the rope with you so no slack tending at all as long as you have weight on the...

HH requires about 3 feet of unspliced cordage = $6

Jack I try to retye the stoppers to do that however I have found it doesn't work for me as the cord seems to get a memory of the knot and ends up realigning itself in the old spot. Maybe I should try it earlier before the memory is set.....

HHs will flatten your rope to some degree. This is not "damaging" the rope merely distorting its shape. I have climbed on them extensively and am very comfortable with this issue/ non issue. One thing that I should probably include in the instructions is when you first start using the HH you...

Nice system Jack, I really like the symplicity of it. I need to modify it a bit to incorporate a knee ascender so it will work when I have hooks on as I do mostly wrecks. Then Ill be styling....

I dont think you can say which device is better, they both allow for the same purpose, ie climbing SRT with a hitch but do so by different approaches. For you ,you feel more comfortable with the HH, others seem to prefer the RW. To me I think the RW2 is more polished and lighter and with the...

For years and years I had an awesome power to weight ratio. Back when I was 17 and rock climbing a did 100 pull ups from a wooden step in the bike shop I worked at. Now I have a Wraptor and have a hard time lifting my beer:lol::lol::lol:

Jamie, nice video for a 1 man effort!! Seriously impressed with that overhead view. Looks like a very efficient system. Have you tried it without the Basic, just the HH and Pantin? HH would need to be on a lanyard to get it up higher and just hold the biner. I need to play with this more. This...

Pete, I was thinking about this a bit and yes I realize it takes some forethought but it is just another instance of developing a more efficient system, every time you are about to go down on a limb if you place say a micro grab on the rope and put the tail through that then upon your return you...
