Careful, they might bring you a new bigger crane :O That atom splitter is just so cool, I had no idea they could split whole logs. Not a bad idea for chipping soft wood, but hardwood is easy to get rid of around here, it is more space efficient to stick the big logs in the chip truck whole than...

I've never had a good feeling about Vermeer. Maybe because it sounds too much like vermin

I've used the Vermeer 60, the track width adjustment system was under powered and easily jammed up with dirt, also it wasn't too hard to boil water out of the radiator.

Anyone see the big dead fish? Might need to put floats on your drone.

I think that last video really shows how much better a crane is. Imagine without: the cleanup would have been a pain, and there'd be an increased risk of broken glass from dead wood flying off as each branch is cut. I imagine it saves enough labor that nobody ever gets too worn out by the end of...

Looks like you still need the weight meter on the crane fixed.

Too many people work just for the money I guess, not enough enjoy or take pride in what they do. Tree work is some of my favorite. I wouldn't like working for a shipping company, but I'd sure take pride in how gentle I am with packages. I get the feeling that tree work is misunderstood as an...

I keep wondering about if a crane is worth it, but seeing videos like that last one taking a big conifer full of branches down in 3 pieces means you could get a lot of jobs done in one day, and the climber should have energy to spare.

Looks like no suspension for the operator on the mini skid. I think Ditch Witch has a shock absorber.

I've noticed good help is hard to find around Nashville, but then again it might all be employed at one of several tree services.

Great videos August, nice to see fun at work and work getting done. The chipper looked a little weak for it's size, but I've not used one that big. I know a 14" seems underpowered on 10" stuff.

I've done it, works great too. I put plywood next to the chipper when on grass or a nice driveway to avoid marking up the ground from all the little turns required. They needed to find ways to take longer to get pie remember?

I use those, or the 3M equivalent, if not the free glasses Tree Stuff gave me, but I tend to keep the ear pieces above the muffs. It's a bit weird, but works well enough like that.
