    16 strand help

Not only can it help...I consider it essential. Getting the cover tail from point C to D in a 16 strand is the one splicing maneuver that pushes the most people away from splicing. Learning the tricks to this one maneuver are, for many people, the key to keeping the door of the splicing world...

    16 strand help

Agreed. When I did my first neolite splice for a customer, I finished it, saw how loose it was, chopped it off and redid it with different measurements (counting 15 strands from the beginning of the bury to the first marked strands of the taper as opposed to the typical 5. I am of the opinion...

    16 strand help

The 16 strand splice is designed for ropes that hold all of the load in the cover. Much or most of the weight In the fly is in those core strandswhixh would not be incorporated in to the strength part of a 16 strand splice. I wonder, though... love nick

    16 strand help

Brian- I think you have the larger size Zing it. I have reports from others that this "puller" technique will work with larger Zing-It. I've used other things as pullers, too: -Cover from a tiny double braid -Core from a tiny double braid -Loosely woven shoe lace (no joke!) Click here and...

    16 strand help

Jman, c'mon! 16 strand isn't THAT bad ;) Okay...yes it is. You say the taper is a PITA. Do you mean pulling out the 10 cover strands to make the taper, or are you talking about the crossover tapers between C and D? To pull the strands, you just gotta take it one at a time. Snag one of them...
