 FWIW: Love a hand loop for short ascents. But, gotta agree for long ascents, use the chest attachment, the elastic is long enough when attached there ... tidies things up a bit, too. ;)

I remember those days, Dave. When I used an e2e on DdRT I used to swap ends and alternately rotate eyes 180°, after each climb. That gave four orientations. IDK if it helped but it seemed good and was easy and free. It would be interesting to see; "... some evidence that trying to re-bend...

Here's a thought, Paul: What might be happening with hitch wear associated with the HH is that it always wears the exact same strip on the cord with every run. I've noticed a narrow distinct stripe on the hitch cord. I'm willing to believe that if both stoppers were periodically retied so the...

Yeah, Donny ... I'm about 2-1/2 hours South (Boonsboro) ... might be good to GTG for a rec climb sometime when the weather gets more predictable. -Jack

That's great, Don! You don't need to add the advancing loop to the HH with that system ... and no annoying neck loop. Nice ... very nice indeed!!!:thumbup: I've got the Metolius and will have to try that, IF it evvvver stops raining. :) BTW ... welcome to TH! ;)

That's interesting, Paul. I remember recently reading that some have experienced increased hitch cord life with SRT, compared to DdRT, because of the lower rope speed and less rope travel through the hitch.

Actually, Jon, the HH comes with a 3/8" (10mm) Beeline with very specific instructions as to how the hitch is to be tied. But, I've only had the HH for a week. So, I haven't tried other combinations of hitch & rope - just RopeTek's recommendations. On the RW, I like the 3/8" Beeline tied with...

Valid point, Dave. Good that you put it out there. Fortunately for me, long all-air climbs are rare. When necessary, I use the Secur and knee ascender shown in this vid. With that system, I can even climb without using my arms at all. That's useful when pushing through a crowded crown...

OK, Paul ... had a small removal and a light prune, today and nice weather. So, I got a chance to do a short, un-edited vid of the Hitch Hiker Rope Walker (HHRW): <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/DSHt_gijntM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Today, I tried to video the two systems but rain interrupted me. So, I only got the Rope Wrench Rope Walker (RWRW) done. :( The Hitch Hiker Rope Walker (HHRW) will have to wait for another day ... sorry, Paul. However, the HHRW works almost exactly the same. :) <iframe width="420"...

Jaime, that was a wonderful video, well shot, edited and commented!!! Thanks! Your vid, Nick's vid and Dave's pix gave me an idea. In your vid (@4:00-4:20), I noticed that the HH moved up and down with your foot loop. I wondered if I could eliminate the hand ascender (Basic) and just...

Dave, do you leave the Secur attached throughout the climb? Or, does it get attached/detached as needed? BTW, compliments on the tending strap loop design!!! Thanks, Jack

Paul, no need for sorry. I know you've been busy and you don't have to rush it on my account. I've really got high hopes for the HH but I can wait. ;) I'm just glad to hear something. Thanks. :)
