Looks like a great machine Eric.
I always had top notch service with Vermeer for over a dozen years.
Best effort they did was the time I tipped my 252 over on its side and broke the carburetor housing while out on a long road trip.
On the spot I called my dealer in the city and he found there...
I never found a fully sealed pillow block bearing or auto tension devices to fit my grinder Chris. Great idea though.
It appears Vermeer just introduced this "first of a kind" ride on grinder a few weeks ago...
Yes I understand that but the time and money wasted maintaining a belt drive you could be out making money with he hydro.
I think that 44 hp engine would be more then enough power on that Bandit to get er done. Especially for a 4x4 35" wide machine.
After 12 years of maintaining my 252 PITA cutter drive I'm ready for a hydro drive.
I can see the hydro drive maybe not so good in long hot season climates but in Canada why not.
So what do you think about my 252 -38 special idea?
Good to see you back Squish.
I thought whenever I get a mini loader a good winter project would be to convert my Vermeer 252 into a 38 special.
A little cutting and welding.......
But I'm interested in the Bandit 2550XP for a dedicated grinder that hydro drive looks great.
What did you...
Eric I charge per stump diameter inch. I would never charge by the hour too much lost revenue plus a high hour rate scares customers off
My 25hp 252 has made as much as $300+ hr.
By the inch had worked very well for.me. Easy to estimate and different rates for cleanup and no cleanup
$4 inch...
I like the looks of the Bandit 2550XP.
35" wide 4X4 . 44HP gas and the beltless hydro static drive is the big seller from me.
Going on 12 years with my Vermeer 252SC and it paid for itself many times over but I hate those stupid pillow block bearings, belts, jackshaft with so much...
