Agreed... removing clutch covers and getting to the bar nuts is a PITA with the full or 3/4 wraps. You either need a special scrench, or modify a "regular" one. For ground pounders like me where 90% of the saw work I do is fallin' timber... they are worth the hassle at the clutch cover. :)

Only if you do a lot of cuttin' clutch side up. If you look at the fist pic I posted where I'm lookin' up while in the back cut... I'm cuttin' clutch side up because it was the only place I could stand to fall that tree. I could see where it would be a help while up in a tree on large...
Thanks Ger... I was on Vitamin I for the last few days. The back didn't bother me at all. But I actually planned my moves, and took my time. Funny what a little age and experience does to a cat when you finally realize you're not 25 anymore. :wall:
On a side note... We only had to wedge one...
We got 2 good sized burls off of one of the trees as well... Do those need some sort of "oil", or anchor seal, or whatever you use for that stuff?
Gary
I really need to get one of those for my 044... I ate a lot of chips today cuttin' clutch side up a few times.
I don't have to worry about ALAPing stumps, so the 3/4 works great for me. Mine is made by USA Handlebars... lightweight aluminum. With a nice fat grip too. Works great for my big...

It did Stephen... it did mang.
That 044 is the best 044/440 I've ever owned/used... it's the same one I was talkin' about in your 044 thread in the chainsaw forum. :)
Gary
I got that 044 from Wally Risdon (Reddog) back in 2004 or 2005. Wally had taken really good care of it... so it was nice to get a saw that was in perfect working order to start with. :)
The guy I am cutting for is gonna send some of the logs to the mill. We also got some really nice burls...
Got a call from a buddy of mine yesterday... to fall some pretty big Maple trees in a tract of land where the landowner wants to plant cedar trees. So I was the hired gun for 2 days of fallin' some big ass Maple. Some of the biggest I've put on the ground...
Almost needed springboards for a...
