K... if you think it would work... I could send the bar to you to mill it out or whatnot. It's a brand new bar in the original packaging. Black bar with the big yellow "McCulloch" on it. Would look good on the 250.

That saw will pull a 36" bar with authority Justin. :)
Brian... sucks about the crappy customer service you got. All I have ever bought was old used stuff, or NOS stuff for old saws. Never had a problem. But also never had to get ahold of him after a sale.

I bought a complete cylinder, piston, and rod from Chainsawr, in excellent condition for a steal. He said I bought it the same day he listed it. I was lucky as hell on that deal.

I finally found standard size piston rings for it. They are as rare as hens teeth. Lots of overbore pistons and rings available. But I just wanted to make it standard.

Sooo... I am still getting parts for this saw.
The only thing useable from the original saw is the air cleaner box and cover, gas tank, and full wrap handle. I still need to "blast" all the crappy paint off of the parts I intend to reuse.
Just thought I'd bump this thread to get it...
HA! I am mang. :) Fretting is a PITA... and I am getting a little better at strumming up and down, instead of always down.
Installed crank seals today, and now am cleaning up the inside of the fuel tank. Some corrosion to get rid of. Plus I need to JB Weld a hole in the bottom of the...
Oh... it's not goin' in the trash Al... now that I know how to pull these baby's apart, I might just look for a .030 piston and rings some day. Our mutual buddy Jacob J. has been helping me a lot with this build. Between the info from you and JJ... this is going pretty smooth. :)

USPS just dropped off a new (used) cylinder, piston and rod for a Super 250. The piston in the Erik saw was gouged up pretty good. Not to mention the cylinder is scored. I also got new crank seals. The flywheel side is installed, but now have to install the clutch side seal in the new...
Yep... he moved the London Bridge piece by piece from England to Lake Havasu, Arizona and rebuilt it... It still satnds today.
Check it out... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge_(Lake_Havasu_City)

Maybe some fine emory cloth on the piston? That would be EZPZ... then all I would need is some new rings. :)
That is the first rod I've seen like that. You are correct that it can only go together one way... pretty slick actually.
The bearings in this saw are in great shape... should I...
Got the crank, piston and rod out tonight. Reeds look good. Piston is scored, but I got a line on a new one. Also got most of the parts ready for the media blaster. Gaskets are gonna be a bitch to find. Prolly gonna have to make most of them myself.
Al... look at the pic of the big end of...
More dissasembly... Used a steering wheel puller, and some long 1/4-20 bolts and washers to pull the flywheel, and the side of the case off. Then took the bar oil and fuel tank off... it was pretty nasty in the fuel tank... so a shot of brake cleaner got it cleaned up for now.
Next is to get...
