I had a clutch of kildeer chicks take cover behind me on the edge of a farm field years ago. They found ample cover behind my boots.....amongst the smoking shotshells.

Sorry for the shadow. It would have been a good picture otherwise. We found a kildeer nest in a parking lot in the big town over west. She was very upset....and did the kildeer dance. You really had to look to find her eggs. For a while I was worried I had stepped on them.

Been 30 below at nights. We had 60 below wind chill last night. Not Meadowlark weather.

A friggin Western Meadowlark is winging around my homestead. I cant believe he is still alive.

I am about to be sexually assaulted by a Western Meadowlark. I should not have led him on like that.....

Ha! That is our "outdoor activity lamp". I shoveled out the snow from the grill and cooked out there tonight. For some reason when we are all out there messing around I always light the lamp. I dont know why.
