Not yet. We were approved for a huge conservation project last year and the Govt man did not want to add any complexity to the plan. I have a couple shelter belts planned, a fruit orchard and a green house of some type. Rain water catches, cisterns...all sorts of stuff. My gardener...

I have the garden worked twice. Was going to get some potatoes in the ground last week. Snowing right now......with a low of 19 coming. Glad I did not plant. I have decided to do a nice job with the garden again this year. I will haul water to it if I need to. Not going to...

You lucky devil. Surprisingly, when you have had 2 inches of precip for the year and months of hot, dry wind.....a garden will not flourish.

Hell, two years ago my crabapple tree got hailed out, along with everything else. Honestly, I was more pissed about the tree than the crops. I might have said some terrible things while standing outside, watching the hail. Might be why we got flooded last year and droughted out this year.

We did get a few tenths the other night so I worked the garden. Planted a bunch of peppers, even Hungarian! Tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cabbages, cucumbers, sweet basil(idea from Stig) strawberries, raspberries. All stuff bought from town. Still got the seeds to go in, but it is...

    Gardening - Growing Your Own.

Its a very small area. In the basic shape of a triangle.....the long side is about 100 feet, short side is probably 70 feet, base 70 feet. I cant get enough water on it to keep it moist enough to germinate the seeds with out some help from mother nature. The water is from the shallow well...

Our ground is so hard and dry right now that it would be a waste to try to work the soil to get it ready to seed. Its not too late, I could still get a rain and put the garden in later. I will trade you some sun and wind for some rain Justin.
