    I have seen the top blow out of a pin oak. Not much of it though. Too bad a tree that size couldn't be moved.

    They are cantankerous. I take a banana box back to the woods and bust them into small pieces. A small handful gets a fire going.

    The bar in town is made of a slab of pin oak with the bark still on the edges. He sunk some drywall screws every few inches through the bark so it wouldn't fall off. It is gorgeous.
