I have had mine since last September and have been pretty impressed. I have the 361 as well and find myself picking up the the 461 more often. The weight difference is minimal and the increased cutting speed with difference in power makes it worth it at least on the ground. In the tree I will...

I am very impressed with mine so far. I have only run through maybe 10 tanks of fuel and that baby is breaking in nicely. Running 28" and 25" bars. She has cut everything I put in front of her. Starts on second pull, idles near perfect, and great power to weight ratio. Bermy I bet that 22" bar...

I will be using mine on Monday as long as the weather cooperates. Big Loblolly Pine in tight area. Probably try the vertical speed line.

That is good to know and makes sense but it also seems like with a smaller bar the kickback could reach you faster sense the rpm's are more with the shorter bar.IDK Just my guess? I sure your saw knowledge is far superior to mine. Did you test this with a failsafe such as piece of wood that...

I guess I will have to see my dealer for the oem 5 point. The 4 point after market for the 461 are they the same as the ones for the 460? Thanks CL

I don't plan to use this in the tree much. I am 5'6" 180 lbs I have just gotten better with the 361. With that said I put the 25" on this saw and it rocked! So there is a possibility I just need to keep eating my wheaties. :) Kick back potential is much more than 361 which will run a 25" fine...

It sounds good and the weight doesn't feel much more than 361. Video tomorrow if I can make space to download.

Got it today with 28" bar but will try the 25" first. Hasn't been in wood yet. Tomorrow it shall.

Ok well that works. I will do just that because I am gonna have to dice it up anyway to get it out to the container since access is limited. At least with the 461 I will have the option of getting a longer bar and/or ported in the future.

So invest in the 461 and use my 25" bar?

Well sounds like this saw could be the right choice. Years ago I had an 066 which served me well on several jobs that I recall. Last time I used 90cc was in 1999! My other highest powered saw was a 036 Pro which was a fantastic saw! I want to go back in time and slap myself for selling those...

Thought I would bump this thread since I am in need of a bigger saw for this 48" diameter Water Oak I am taking down next week. I really like power to weight ratio on this saw and the air filtration system looks nice. I would like to stick with Stihl since all my saws are Stihl and have good...
