Sure, but since I have such limited total wattage to use (by design), there is little benefit in feeding into the main distribution panel. I'd need to close all but 1 or possibly 2 of the 20 circuits on the panel. The way I do it is mighty simple. Inexpensive, too. Suits my needs fine.

The 2250 max watts is deceiving. It will only provide that for a surge requirement lasting 10 seconds or so. For full time continuous output, more like 1800, and 2200 at surge. And that's at full throttle. I really like running it on eco mode, which drops you to about 1350 watts. It is sooo...

I might too Scott, if my needs for the genny were that infrequent. But in the year and a little that I've had it, it's been in operation about 60 hours now, at a guess about 10 individual times. This past year+ might be a little above average for outages, but not all that much. At this level...

I always use that switch, but I have not drained the tank...I use stabilized fuel, and so far that's been OK.

Me, too. The full spectrum of the electric generation there was not built to operate in the temps that Texas is experiencing. Natural gas pipelines froze, gas and coal generation plants could not function fully, switching at substations failed. All those things do not happen in places where...

Sorry to be slow replying, Austin...the power went out again just as I started to write a post, about 8:30 last night. Went to bed :). This morning we ran the genny for 5 hours, then again starting about 5:00pm. Power came back on half an hour ago. Used a third of a gallon for those 7ish...

Back online now...power off since Friday evening, so the new WEN got a decent trial. I'm happy with it. Ran flawlessly. I used it 3 hours Saturday morning, just on the refrigerator, then 4 hours Friday evening running the 'frige and a 13 watt led bulb in the living room. Off overnight again...

Very true...so long as one never makes a mistake. I for one recall a thankfully very few but remarkably dumb things I've done that I knew full well not to, but somehow screwed the pooch. It happens.
