Hmm that looks like the usual model, the one I saw has a redesigned pull handle and the clip to hold the exetention is much better. cutting head is a bit different too. Weighs about the same $200 AUD
Bump..maybe they've heard us, just.seen the new model...looks and feels a bit more robust and the sliding handle is nicer, easier to grip...might have to actually buy one...my old one is getting cranky
I went to Bunnings todayand checked out the Fiskers, new one was a retro 'classic' pruner, with the rope pull. The short stick pruner had a slightly different pole/strap arrangement but the head was the same. The one we all use was just the same as àlways...oh well
Got ya Steve.
Wow Nick! 10 in one month?
The pole pruners over here don't come with the saw blade attachment, which is a complete waste of time anyway, they have a nice hard plastic cover, but that gets ditched inside a couple of days.
I'm on my third in Tassie in six years...something went 'pop' up in the head last month (the head of the Fiskars, not mine) and the pull cord went all slack
Took it back to Bunnings, no problem, got a new one.
The sales lady said they are coming out with a new version soon...anybody else heard...
I gave up...took it back to Bunnings where I bought it and guess what, lifetime warranty, so three yr old broken one got swapped for a new one no questions asked...NICE, saved me $188!
Nick...do you know how long the round black cord is that threads through from outside to inside right up in the head mechanism? The one that goes through the little pulley on the inside?
Our broke and I think its too short to retie...
Cool, if they kept the quality that they started with, and don't cheapen it, I'll still say its one of the best tools I've ever bought for my kind of tree work.
We need a working diagram of the internals...because they can go wonky...its tool being used by professional tree surgeons after all!
I...
My 5 yr old one is getting stuck under the lengthening lever, the strapping that is..minor nuisance but seeing how old it is...
I gave my 5' one to a friend who has a gardening service, once I got the extendable one the fixed one never got used.
Ok, if you guys are muscling around huge big ass trees then go for your marvin whatevers.
But for precision pruning out on tips NOT whacking off great lumps of wood, the Fiskars is invaluable. Nick might have broken nine of them, I'm still going on mine five years in with minor adjustments.
