    Anyone still using the APTA?

I'll probably get a plastic gun case for it. I have a cheap one from wal mart for several other guns that has lasted a long time. I have hit the bottom side of several limbs with the bag and it shoots back pretty hard.

If I get that that accurate I'll be able to shoot out the dead wood without even having to climb.

    Anyone still using the APTA?

100 psi will go over any of my 85 ft trees. If i need to lower it I will check the pressure. That causes it to loose about 4 or 5 psi with each check with my particular gage. I have a little wal mart electric compressor that plugs in the cigarette lighter that will get to 100 psi in 50 seconds...

$12 at Wal Mart. 10 steps gets it to right at 90psi. 12 steps hits 100psi. I have an old one that has been in my 4 wheeler for 20 years and still works fine.

I noticed how much the green dot moves when I open the valve while holding it like a gun. I started sitting it on the ground and it doesn't move near as much.

One thing that could be different about it is the position of the release handle. It closes right towards the valve stem. I've already mashed my finger twice. If it was tightened to the opposite side would be better for me. Maybe because I'm left handed I don't know.

    Anyone still using the APTA?

Tried the cardboard box trick. It worked but I was getting quite a bit of wiggle out of the limber sides. Set it on my 4 wheeler to go to the shop to cut out a couple of boards and saw the holes in my milk crate strapped to my rack. It slid in there just right. Two bungees to hold it to one...

Interesting video. We're they being bombed from planes? Mortars from the ground just out of view? Land mines?

Is your laser right at the end or closer to the middle? I guess if it was in the middle it would be between the v's in the cardboard and only make a half circle.

What's the best way to mount the laser? Zip tie it? Any good way to sight it in? I feel like I'd be chasing my tail trying to adjust it with each shot. The one Dmc linked to had an estimated shipping time of 10 to 13 months. They had a different one for $79 in stock.

I'm decent with the big shot. If it's an open canopy I can do ok. A very dense canopy with a tight spot to hit will give me trouble. I'll throw by hand to about 60 ft. After that I start having trouble. I'm going to look in to the apta. Maybe Mrs. Santa will bring me one.

    Anyone still using the APTA?

I throw by hand 99 percent of the time. I've had a big shot for about 10 years and only use it about 5 or 6 times a year. If I was more accurate with it I might use it more. It's nice but it can still take a few times for a very tight spot. I've been rec climbing some taller trees lately and...
