My dear old departed pappy oiled his gas twice in the same week .He was over 80 at the time and I new the old boy was loosing it .I'll be damned if the exact next week I anti freezed my weed wacker .:roll: I didn't realize it until I poured mix gas in my old truck . Chit happens .
Several things you will eventually do .Rock a chain ,put a chain on backwards and hang up a saw . If you get real good at it you might even hang two saws in the same log .:lol:
I don't know on the wedges .I just always thumped in steel spiltting wedges in with an 8 pound hammer .
On a large log two on the side and one in the top . No big deal they usually aren't that large any way .
Not living in hill county I really have no idea how to lop a big log .In the flat lands a couple of wedges usually gets it done .
Seldom though does it exceed 3 to 3 1/2 foot cut .Those in that size are a rarity in themselves .
