    New Lowering Device

So to let any interested parties know, this device is available now to purchase through Wespur and Treestuff at least. I did intend to post more pics and videos in the meantime but have been a bit stretched by other stuff. Thanks again.

That's a limb being lowered out of the big tree, not a separate tree. Not sure why the tree was dying Gary, it was a good few years ago.

I'm not sure to be honest. I never think about that sort of thing. You can carry it all with one hand, if that helps.

No, at least none that I've picked up on. All credit to the engineers. I'm a crude fabricator....they take my work and make it better.

    New Lowering Device

Not saying its better or worse than a portawrap, but our 2000 device is an alternative of sorts. 2000kg WLL. 3" barrel diameter.....and is designed to utilize two positioning slings. Bottom is the load bearing anchor, the top is to keep the device upright at all times, so not flopping about as...

    New Lowering Device

Nothing unfortunate about it, just the way it is....your decision that is. Managing the winch line is more work than that of a grcs, clearly....but still much less work than setting a 5:1 that many people have and still do with Porty's and the more basic bollards. If a user feels the winch is...

Then look again at my first reply to you. Look for the '?' I'll even repeat one even as you seem to keep making the same point without cause - where did I ever write that I didn't want to hear any criticism? And why would I want mb to delete your posts ? So there's mo mix up. I don't want mb...

    New Lowering Device

Use whatever term Im comfortable with ? I didnt use any term. Im just not getting what youre on about. And not sure what you want me to say? I answered your questions as best as I could already, yet you didnt answer mine....instead you just seemed to ignore everything I said:) I get that you...

    New Lowering Device

Mate, I said earlier that constructive criticism was welcome, you already quoted that in an earlier post that you made, so why are you asking me again ? I never once suggested that people pat me on the back, so I dont get that part either. Its an open discussion, so say whatever comes to mind...

    New Lowering Device

Lol at the elite part Chris....you and I both, mate. I might leave that suggestion out of any future sales pitch though. Remember too that price is a total guess by me, not the manufacturer, at this stage. Could be more or less....though I doubt by much of a margin either way.

    New Lowering Device

Thanks again guys  Hey Rog. We're not trying to compete with the GRCS. I believe that device will reign for a long time as the best allrounder. We have aimed at an altogether different price point in the market. For basic lifiting and lowering requirements, proven durability, at a...

I wary of rope grabs Mick. In the event of an unexpected shock load it could shred the rope.

    New Lowering Device

Not sure what you mean by one time max load, Tom At near 1500lb and beyond the handle gets really hard to crank. I got a hold of one of those load calculators by Rock Exotica to run some tests. The handle doesnt fail as far as I can see....its just that the gears get maxed out to the point...

    New Lowering Device

End of the year Jay, or early 2015. Tom, the winch is the limiting factor, not the rope. Like I said in the video, we could a gone higher capacity but at a significant loss in speed. I think 1500 single line, or 3000 doubled ought to be sufficient for most tree removal situations.

    New Lowering Device

Thanks again guys. Constructive criticisms are always welcome too. Don't hold back if something comes to mind....it's all good. Just bear I'm mind that the goal was to come in within a certain price band. Makes you look at things differently than what might be with a no expense spared approach...

    New Lowering Device

I dont worry about lawns either. But if somebody want to pay me to worry about a lawn I'll say 'theres the bill thank you very much'. I'll mess about with ropes all day if thats how they want to spend there money. Its all work :beerchug:

    New Lowering Device

The cameras point up, so Id be pretty impressed if you could see or know. Astonished even! The first chunks were over a lawn, particularly soft due to rainfall. Second lot were over a tarmac drive. It was all in the price as I recall, their choice on the lawn job. I used to get those kind of...

    New Lowering Device

Al, I had 2 things in mind with the 3002. Simultaneous tip and butt tying for extra control of large limbs, and and extra element of safety and rope care when negative rigging i.e. using 2 lines to catch a chunk, or utilizing both bollards with a single line to avoid the line over heating. The...

Thanks again. I think that line was about 15-17 feet, with some room to spare on the reel. Not sure exactly what line we'll go with, probably a little thicker than the one in the video.
