Willard that tar sands deal has been going on so long it's a political football .
I'm not even sure who owns the Lima Ohio refinery now because it keeps changing ownership so often .When Husky owned it they had plans for a trans Canadian pipeline from the sands to Ohio and several other locations .
I don't think they packaged the stuff with the intent somebody would use it in a chainsaw .
Then too it would be better to use salad oil as bar oil than vica versa .Yuck !
Well since you mentioned that ,fact being I once had the opportunity to go to the "tar sands " but declined .Oh another fact ,some of that oil was at one time intended to make it almost in my back yard at a local refinery .Still might because at this time that refinery is owned by Huskey which...

Now that was when bearing clearances were 2.5 -3 thou clearance .Now days with right at 1 thou clearance that stuff won't...
Ha I don't pay one red cent for it .Toms' brother in law works in a repackaging plant and gets the stuff for nothing .One leaker out of a whole case they discard the whole bunch . Tom being Tom only uses Stihl branded oils so old Al gets it .That, tranny oil about anything else .Cheap is...
In the low down dirty it's nothing more than oil with STP added or something like it .Fact is machine way oil is about the same stuff but let me tell you the price far and exceeds chainsaw bar oil .
Being rather old school and set in my ways I've never used veggie oil other than on salads .That plus the fact I already have about twenty gallons of oil on hand .Bear in mind though that veggie oil contains no tacking agent as does petrolium based oils and will not cling to the bar and chain as...
