    Husqvarna 3120XP vs. 395XP vs. Sithl 660-880

The big saws suck on anything but the mill imo. 41" max for work on the 084 but prefer the 36" or the 066 late model 32lw. Anyone running the new 881 yet?

    Interesting felling technique!

That escape route is most important imo when they chair. I don't like it when white oaks do it. One almost got me once but I always plan two outs on sketchy stuff. I consider that T&G cut a sketchy move.... never used one myself. I'll rig it first, climb it or get a crane. Walking away has also...

    Interesting felling technique!

I wonder how dangerous this would get with a big wide hardwood? Maybe something old with a fairly wide canopy? Not me no thanks.

Nice one. I'm going to be trying out my 084. Picked up several more bars. No nice logs have crossed my path lately :-( Found a bunch of spalted wood. Weather's been crazy.

    Drying wood

I grabbed a thick bottom cut off a 30" black walnut this past week....freebie piece. Looks very nice and will make a fine work bench or shelf. Should I smooth the surface and peel it now, then seal the top? It is between two and six inches thick. Seven foot long with a double cathedral heart...

Duno....I wear a respirator. My saw don't smoke either. Tuned correctly for my work every time. None of my saw smoke but the big bow when you nail it :-) How does your exhaust smoke smell? Do you enjoy it? Adding a 2ft pipe and a baffle when the rain stops or tomorrow. Been testing chains and...

The plan I had was to try this type of hauling arch a few years back. Maybe this winter when I'm back under a roof of sorts. My buddy Jim has is 68' Cub with the loader kit back up and restored. He only has the 11hp iron single in it but the new Chevron rears tires should be a big help uphill or...

    Excellent Ground Man

Too hard to find. Had maybe ten guys lifetime that would even read that. Ha....now with the new rules...I'm done. Good ground guys are rare. The only excellent ones are, dead, moved on, retired or they are also a good climber, most times I found.

Made it back to page 90 today. Might cover the other hundred one night or split it up in two parts. I have a question about your height adjustment mounts. Did they distort when you first tightened them down? What is the wall thickness of your clamp tubes? TIA
