Got a little done on my little sawmill shed this evening. Having fun building. Using up some leftover hemlock and some pine side lumber from cutting timbers.
I had a jar of Sauerkraut from Aldi in the fridge that needed to be dealt with. I couldn't read the "best by" date and was worried it may have went bad. Then I realized there was no actual evidence that it had ever went good, so I, ate it without further consideration.
Yes, that's the one. He already had a point that was rotten in the same spot. It got pulled when they dug for the new foundation. We knew we had pretty good odds going into the project.
Nope. This was fine gravel, and the point would stop occasionally, then break through a rock and keep going. I guess they are very popular in Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, etc. Surprisingly, our local Tractor Supply had all the parts in stock.
It's a 36" saind point. You'll have to google it, I don’t have a photo. We got water at about 12' 6" from the crushed stone. Another 7' to the top of the point. Acres of aquifer.
That's a bummer. The successful outfits I've worked for, other issues aside, were very organized. You showed up and went to work after morning briefing. Early is on time. On time is late!
My solar system is chooching away nicely. It was making 4.2 amps fairly early (low sun angle) this morning. I blew the pollen off, and it went up to 4.3. Next test is to see how the battery holds up over night.
I got my temporarily permanent solar shed set up. It's my old package barn from my house, that nobody would put packages in. Too dark to put it online. Polarity is backwards from what labels say. Haven't found much online about it. Going to wait until I've got full sun, then check again. I'm...
Phones have been listening for many years. Facebook, which I haven't been on in a couple of years, and now Instagram, will show content related to something that was said, or even from Google searches.
Wood-Mizer uses a similar cylinder with a threaded lock ring. Remove the ring and push the head in and remove the snap ring. I'll get a photo in a bit.
I went to the PO this morning and told then my package was not delivered. They took my tracking number and came back in a couple minutes and said that, yes, it had been delivered to the wrong address, and that it would be retrieved and delivered today. It seems that a precise GPS tag is recorded...
USPS says they put the package in my mailbox at 5:48. Nope. They went by at about 6:15, and no package. I'm expecting a whole lot of nothing from them tomorrow morning.
It looks like I'm going to need a charger for my internet battery at the sawmill. I was hoping I could charge it off a piece of machinery, but that doesn't look feasible at this point. Tractor Supply had a solar trickle charger for about $15 per watt, with unknown battery management. Amazon has...
We have a lot of foxes around here. Almost always red, but I did see one family about four years ago that was fully gray. They are smart enough to get out of the road, but only just enough. I'm guessing they have litters they need to feed and are hunting non-stop.
Not sure about the bridge, but I know when we first got fiber in 2016 they explained that a tethered device would see almost all of the gigabit, but anything wifi would be half due to it switching between sending and receiving. My cell phone was at 400 up and down. The tech's tethered laptop was...
