Here’s a good one. That loader keeps bending and breaking the tilt cylinder upwards. Still trying to figure it out. Frame repair on $$$ restored square Picked up logs I cut recently when I went to look at loader, same Cust/friend

See how the one on the right is black? Got used near torch at work. Both those big yellow wedges were brittle and broke (before fire exposure) Bjarne power wedges ftw

    New use for old tool

Used one to get one inch clearance to drop a trailer down on the ball. tongue jack was retracted all the way and on a 4x6 to prevent sinkage. Wedged one in between the coupler and the receiver to lift the tongue and jack just enough to remove the block of wood under it, then knock wedge out. No...

    How'd it go today?

Mowing went well. It always goes well with a shot of nitro fuel. Nirto makes an engine idle just a little faster and ask for MORE! when under load. I did it to a ms170 once, more than a shot, and it was impressive for a stock engine and muffler. I had to take the air filter out and stuff a shop...

    The Official Work Pictures Thread

Last Saturday my hand slipped off the pull up in the bucket and I punched myself in the mouth and split my lip. I had to laugh… funny how sometimes things like that can be infuriating and sometimes humorous.

    New use for old tool

💯 The corner of my storage shed has some of the gravel holding up one corner washed out. Of course you could never put the gravel back where it belongs and have it be tight so I apply double wedges- the face cut wedge (@Mick! a gob) from a cherry tree for volume and then drive in a plastic...

    New use for old tool

I recently needed to lift a 4x6 beam about 1/2 inch from its position on top of a 4x4 post under my front porch. No need to go into the nitty gritty details of why unless someone is really interested...but after removing the T braces that secured the position, I used a pair of old beat up 8...

Nay...Sean means a pad to protect your rope from friction against the rock surface it may bear against in providing climbers protection.

Never heard that term. Is it a reference to what a RW does in a system

Personally. I would use something more bullet proof than a ZZ. Prone to side load cracking and not something I would have anywhere near a hard rock surface. Rope Runner, Akimbo or HH for tough and compact, or bulldog bone if that is still around. If you can make them work on skinny rope. I've...

    Rock Climbing

This was absolutely true for the usual knots. I climbed some years with the knut. The best case in srt gave me a descent with the first pull down on the knot's top. But if I released the knot for a cut or just a bit to slow down, the top tightens and grabs hard the line. So hard that I wasn't...

Friction pads for sure. At a cliff, you won't have to put 100 percent of your weight on the rope to get down. You can always, very easily, make a friction device to add a la RW.
