    How'd it go today?

Maybe they put it in the mailbox of whoever lives 27min before you on the route. Possibly a similar name or address number.

Eastern White Pine - Turning Brown

I had one die. I can't remember if it turned brown from top down or bottom up. It had regular sized branches break off one side from an ice storm at least 5 or so years before, and it died at the end of a very dry year, though all the other pines survived. Maybe it got weakened enough for...

    In The News...

I couldn't find it, but I've seen a pic of an echo chainsaw that touched a power line. It left 2 craters like 3/4" thick in the edge of the bar through the chain, one near the engine, and one at the tip. Not sure how you do that by accident, but it has happened before.

    How'd it go today?

I'd replace some of the metal box with plastic or wood to better transmit signal, or run an extension antenna to the outside of the box.

I wonder if they will rework the lifted tiles? They could be taken up for stump grinding, re-leveled and new palms planted.

    Whats blooming?

They can be fragile when small, so avoid mowing or walking in the yard as much as possible after seeding. They should sprout very quickly, so give them at least a month or 2 before mowing, and 2-4 weeks in between. Crimson, an annual blooms once. If you mow during the bloom, it's done.

    I’m a sucker for a bargain

Only problem is they tend to mark most everything up 10-20%, so the discounts don't amount to much.

    Whats blooming?

Yeah, red clover was named by colorblind people. I think it's biennial, so you must have planted it last year? I think the flowers are edible depending on if it's medium red or giant red, or maybe both are edible.

Watch a bullet hitting steel in slowmo. That's the best way I can describe it. There's not a big chance of survival, but it's way better than the front 90%. Mostly because there's little behind you to crush you, so you just have to slow down on the "cushion" of what's in front, and the path...

The problem with a rope is that it can stretch and shift while being shock loaded. It might be the same time & effort to make a fancy cut as it is to get the rope set in such a way that it won't move. I guess a strong base anchor and a little guide notch in the back to catch the rope with some...

Do that notch cut so the stump catches the butt of the log.

    pulley failure

I wonder how they put those together. If it's just a press fit, it doesnt sound safe to begin with. You don't want to risk it somehow getting used for load bearing work.

The Styrofoam needs to be thoroughly bagged or taped up so it doesn't make a mess. Could rent an electric man lift & generator.

Tree down in St Louis. Need help.

It's what I'd charge to drive a car full of tools 8hrs round trip being uncertain if it's just the branch or the whole tree, but I don't have my tools handy.
