The royal palms pictured here are way easier to SRT and harder to grip or band up because the trunk gets thicker as you go up hard to adjust. Whatever it takes to trim the trees and you don’t die.

Those are deer stands…. I’ve only just started using them…. Someone said they are illegal in Arb but I’m sure cheaper than the $2500 Swiss grippers or bands…. Spikeless pruning...

Observed the rings aren’t the best for false crotch wood….
the ring pinches the interior leg of line and halts the piece much more than the lowering device.
The first Hobbs had a wide flat bollard, you could fit a ton of wraps on it.
They would overwrap the rope sometimes but you had to hold the rope “so that it doesn’t overwr@p” keep the wraps spread out not bunched.
