    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

I ordered a visor for it from TreeStuff for $46 shipped. Sticker price was $38, but I don't really need anything to get me to $100 free shipping. That's still cheaper than the new Vertex stuff, and I figured I should buy now while they're still available. Getting greedy and waiting for a better...

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

@lxskllr, that's truly and incredible find and an unbelievable price! Lucky you! =-D I have a Petzl Vertex that's probably 6 years old at this point and it has vents on both sides of the helmet that you can open and close as desired. It's pretty cool, except one of the vents is kind of finicky...

    Logging Choker cables

Is it called anything if you just hook the choke, single line, whatever to a log to introduce roll? Is that still technically a parbuckle?

It is a similar arrangement, if I have it correct. The rope or cable is wrapped or laid doubled, so that when pulled the cylinder, be it a log, barrel, or whatever, rolls.

    Logging Choker cables

Is it? Parbuckle is an MA setup to (usually)raise a cylinder up a ramp, right?. I'm unclear on what Sean was talking about, but I imagined it as setting a choke, so when you start to pull, the log rolls sideways before it starts going straight. Maybe to miss a stump or something.

    Parbuckle. I think :).

    Logging Choker cables

I don't recall the slang of it, but choking to roll a log as it is skid lengthwise is a useful trick, every once in a while.

    How'd it go today?

That garden I posted about in the 'How was your day' thread had a camera in there. I almost didn't see it cause they had a bunch of solar lights placed here and there. I'm looking around, my eyes go past the cam, and I think "That's not a light...". Dunno why it was in there. Maybe to see...

    How'd it go today?

Even out in the deep rural countryside hereabouts, there are cameras galore these days. I see them on houses, barns, sheds, fences, trees. Someone not from up here in my neck of the woods known to a moderately distant neighbor of ours told the neighbor, who then told us, that he kept seeing...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

69°, some high thin clouds, and the wind is blowing at gale force. No work today it's so bad. 35mph sustained, gusting to 50.

Yup. Hard to not be seen. Not like it used to be.

I wore it every day last summer. I didn't notice any issues with heat. It does have a sliding vent on the top. I think when it's really hot, you are just going to be miserable all over anyway.
