We still have a landline. We keep it for the sake of business. We dropped AT&T years ago and get phone service thru our (local) internet provider. Our phone, our internet, and the business domain come to us for $79 a month. Not a bad deal. Our internet is owned by the high school in Mendocino...

245 miles south of us, near Santa Cruz, an EF1 tornado. flung multiple cars around, injured people, and other damage. Crazy!

We pay a high price in multiple ways, I guess. Being California born I am used to quakes and they don't really scare me. The scaredest I've ever been is when I went to Kansas to visit my daughter and there was a tornado nearby. I will take a shaker over a tornado anyday!!
