    Tree felling vids

There is the one just in the previous post but it didn't show for some reason. Just click on it and close the popup window of signing-in for FB, and you get the vid right there. The guy had time to escape, but not the poor car, parked right where it shouldn't be.

    The Official Random Video Thread!

I have to show that to my daughter. She used to play the monkey in the sidecar races. She even came at the op of the french championship. The physics are similar to this girl's but on black top tracks with (relatively) well defined trajectories and no random logs or obstacles in the way. Crazy guys.

    Rock Climbing

This was absolutely true for the usual knots. I climbed some years with the knut. The best case in srt gave me a descent with the first pull down on the knot's top. But if I released the knot for a cut or just a bit to slow down, the top tightens and grabs hard the line. So hard that I wasn't...

    Rock Climbing

About the ZZ alone in SRT, It works well for me. I use it all the time on my secondary climb line (66'). It doesn't lock in the descent and it's even a bit touchy. The Akimbo is on my main line (130'). Both are used at will in SRT and DRT mode, up and down, sideway too.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Who plays with the regulator's button? It was 62°F this sunday. Going up again.

    Wall of Shame: Wannabe Experts

It's thought that the slanted cut lives a stop behind the trunk's base to prevent it falling backward, like would a prop made out of a beam. But it's completely delusional, there's zero advantage about it, only potential or real problems.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

I missed the peak today too, but it was over104°F at 17:00. Monday, it was a bit less but I gave up a tad before noon. Edge reduction in the full sun. I can do only like 3-4' at a time before taking a break due to overheating. My clothes were fully drenched with sweat and the black top got wet...

    How'd it go today?

I went very close to a disaster. One of my two ratchet straps holding my baby chipper broke on a sharp edge. The chipper backed a bit on my trailer ( not much because it's a tight fit), popped loose the flimsy locks and the tail gate fell on the road. I didn't heard a thing, beside the...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Very hot here too. Yesterday; it was still 98°F at 18:00. A thunderstorm came during the night and cooled down the air a bit in the morning but that didn't last long. I had to stop several times due to overheating. Monday will be even hotter.

    Knot thread

Then, I guess that I'm a little on the stubborn side. :D On the other hand, I move quite slowly on the rope, so I usually have enough time to react and not put myself in a dire situation. The first beard's hair stuck in the descender in quite a while is my remainder that's about time to trim...

    How'd it go today?

Indeed, but it's ballsy to tow that with this truck.:dude: I'm sure the local officiers would agree that the numbers aren't in your favor here. I even doubt that I could drag only the trailer alone with my van.:D

    The Official Critter Thread

It's fascinating to see how the flight mode engages right on when the time comes. No training, even no previous try, just go ! :dude: Comparing that to the struggle lived by the human baby to just stand upright.

    How'd it go today?

RE the stump grinder flip: it was secured before the crash, there are still two chains hooked at the front and and a binder lays on the trailer's back. Something may have broken.
