I knew it was on but when I turned my computer on IE downloaded some stuff and after that I couldn't connect here or most other sites.

I had read this http://wordpress.org/news/2012/01/internet-blackout/ beforehand and thought it was firefox as well, took me half an hour to fix everything.

No more automatic updates, for now anyway.
