Unhappy With The CF Geckos

I dunno about these things. I was on them today for 4 hours or so and the right one was bugging the hell out of me. Just look at the mark on my leg! And that's with me wearing padding underneath them. Crikey, I think our buddy Ekkka was right! I think I might go back to my caddies. The CF's don't go far enough over the shin, like the caddies. A real problem with the design.

Ya'll think $400 buck is a far price to sell em? Anyone want them?

If I actually worked off of gaffs any more, I'd buy them. But my Titanium Bucs will have to suffice for the odd climbing job any more. I'd love to have them but I can't justify it. Somebody here will buy them though, maybe Deva or Bivyless John. Or Moneybags $Brendon$!

That sucks. Are you sure they're the right size? I had to adjust the height on mine twice before I got it right. Granted, I have the original geckos, which are adjustable. Custom fitted stuff is cool and all, but when things don't end up fitting just right it sure sucks to not be able to do any fine tuning.

Well that may be the problem. I found that they are better not too high because of how offset the pad is from the gaff. When I had them too high they dug in real bad.

How can less padding be more comfortable?

I bet if you got the longest size they're probably too tall for ya. I'm 6' 1" with longish legs and the two marks from the top is most comfortable for my with the older Geckos.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I know I raved about how much I liked the Gecko's and feel I swayed your decision to make the purchase.

My experience with them was a positive one. Though I have long said,"What you're use to wearing after wards anything different will wear on you.

You shouldn't have a problem selling them, especially since they were wore by you. On that note you could come out a winner yet.

They were so pointed I actually had to round it over with a file. I wasn't able to pull them out of the tree they would stick so deep. I never thought I would do that to a set of gaffs!

I used to wear the two strap buck pads as high as they would go too, but for some reason the geckos have to be just the right height. I think it's because the pads are sort of contoured to the side of your leg a little more. I dunno... I'm just talking out of my arse now.

I went from Caddies to Gecks and never looked back. They are the most cozy gaffs Ive ever worn. I can wear em all day long without any discomfort.

They are wicked sharp too.
