Cypress Canker (Seridieum)

Any of you folks have problems with this canker?
It's wind and water borne apparently.

It hits Leylandii's a lot. We're seeing a large impact here on young Monterey Cypress.

It's absolutely hammering one of our reforestation sites, 1-5 year installations.
There are beetle borers also.

Any kind of controls that you've used?
trying to stay out of chemicals..........

We're trying to think how to break the beetle life cycle too, to help control.

Around here the biggest issue is proper irrigation for the leylandii, as for the rest, I don't know.

Bummer.

Don't think I've seen a Leyland Cypress without it, to some extent, here.

Seems like too much water and or fertilizer would make weak cell walls that would be susceptible to infections, anyway.

Not sure, though.

Leylandii gets the phytophtora here, likely the same as Willie's issue with them a few hours south of me.

Josh, the site is super saturated with 125% yearly rainfall and clay soils.

We've just been pruning out the canker, manually and sterilizing with a 10% bleach.
The trunks are just wasted though.

No, our issue is mostly seridium and tip borers. Leyland cypress are a cross of two coastal trees and we don't get enough humidity here so they really suffer without enough irrigation. Occasionally we see over water but not usually on these

Our issue is mainly the trunk deformation, the seridieum and the tip borers too.

I post this because I've just spent two days handsawing and hand pruning canker out of little trees.
I'm interested now.
