    New Chipper for TreeCareLA, too!

$200 isn't too bad considering you're in a major City. A lot of place like golf courses, resorts or even hotels might be willing to trade tree services for space to park vehicles. I have a similar setup on a farm here on Oahu we do a lot of tree work for them and we have a nice secure spot for...

    New Chipper for TreeCareLA, too!

What I was getting at was the feeling of how much easier your life is about to become with that machine; I had a similar experience recently getting the mini + bmg, and like many others had the same thought of 'why did I wait so long'.... jp:D

BTW if you plan on chipping while disconnected you might consider replacing the wheeled jack stand with a fixed one for more stability, just a thought... jp:D

I definitely agree get as much HP as you can and definitely go DIESEL you will not regret it. The money seems like a lot up front but just like your...

    New Chipper for TreeCareLA, too!

My drum chipper makes exceptional chips, ours are usually the first gone at the local gardens when we dump. I think it has more to do with the knife sharpness and anvil adjustment than anything. The disc chippers tend to be heavier as well. The 990xp is a great small drum chipper, it's quite a...

    New Chipper for TreeCareLA, too!

Either way, once you buy a chipper you will be loving life! I remember starting off hand stacking in a pickup, then using a 6" old school chipper and now the 15" drum... life is good! I actually love coming down and chipping after climbing. jp:D

    New Chipper for TreeCareLA, too!

Nick when I worked for Pacific Tree Care in Calistoga they had two Morbark 6" drums with feed wheels. They were very light chippers and could handle an impressive amount of brush. A lot of jobs with tight access they were perfect. After having a smaller chipper and now having a larger 15" drum I...
