Hey, I'm a happy camper. I've heard that liabiliphobia bullooney for decades.
This live oak is hanging over US Hwy #1, and is >90% hollow. http://www.historictreecare.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Cable-Thoburn-Oak-DB-AA.pdf
What, me worry? That's what disclaimers, and other biz risk...
+1 to Nick's post. Think about it!
"there is more behind my question than I care to get into here."
that has a whiff of anaerobic compost to it.
That "Aren't you afraid...aren't you responsible..." line comes from
1. Not knowing enough about cabling, or
2. Loving the smell of...
Consider me sicced! If not sick...
Nice looking tree and work! Sad that all those lower limbs were whacked long ago; increases risk = dumb.
Without seeing the fork I can't comment on steel vs. dynamic, and please don't sic jomoco on that question!
The cabling => liability myth dies hard...
True that. In the pic it looks like the most destabilizing influence on that tree is pruning--those lower limbs removed not only aggravated infection, but made the leaning limb more end-heavy.
Good plan by Burnham; rcx should be paid!
