Service lines are usually low so off of a 12' step ladder or if they run through the tree just reach out. Or from the bucket truck. It's rarely a electric service drop as they are thicker and easier to pick out.

Or on a lot of it. I use cones or spare hard hats. Usually not for protection but visibility. So I don't forget where things are at. I also use strips of marking tape on service lines( mostly phone and cable) to help them stand out. Pots and pans work but look a bit like a yard sale.
