Nick, when bandit first unveiled the 990xp it supposably shocked the chipper industry. I was considering one but can't afford new and used ones are hard to come by yet. Just awesome machines

There is a safety factor in their figuring on the bolt changes. Manufacturers are going to recommend such things as to CTA if something goes wrong. That and to sell parts. Vermeer told us every knife change. You can flip them once.

If one cylinder wasn't working properly it was probably a bad injector. If it's bad enough the fuel builds up in the cylinder and can seep through the rings and into the oil. This makes the oil level high causing more problems. It sucks that it's happened with so few hours. They should be eating...

Mine ended up being a bad breaker. Stupid $7 part. Calmed down enough to not replace it right now but on the hunt patiently

Yeah I'm finding quite a lot of them within 300 miles of me. Gonna give the dealer a call also to set up a demo just to make sure it's what I want. Never heard anything bad about them. I'm also a little unsure of the engine I would prefer. 100 hp at least and not a duetze(?).

Hey thanks for posting this Nick. I've read this and guess what, my chipper decides to quit. I'm getting a key switch and Murphy switch just to make sure. No power to the starter seliniod. I tried jumping the seliniod and nothing. Hooked cables straight from battery to starter and it cranks but...

I'm not sure but the dealers are why we don't buy them anymore. Dealer would tell us it's cat's problem. Cat would look at it and say that the engine was fine it was morbark's wiring. Then after the back and forth bs we'd get an "I don't know". When it ran it was a great machine. When it didn't...
